Daring Fireball: Best Picture →

I’ll put it in writing: the best motion picture released last year was WALL-E. Like 2001 — which WALL-E pays significant homage to — it wasn’t even nominated for best picture. But it effectively couldn’t be nominated — and that’s the real crime. Instead, WALL-E was nominated for and awarded the prize for “best animated film”.

The only talk from this year’s TED that I’ve watched so far. It’s an interesting take on creativity. One that I in many respects agree with. Again something I need to sit down and think some more about, but well worth 18 minutes of your time.

So I was doing some work for a friend and drinking a beer whilst doing so. He reached across the desk to grab something and the beer ended up on my laptop. Everything seems okay, except that some parts of the keyboard matrix are broken. Genius bar, here I come.

A friend and I are going on a shooting spree. We’re rounding up a bunch of people and going crazy with our Canons (I have a 20D, he has a 40D I believe — those are cameras, just so you know). Anyone in the Sydney area interested in coming down and shooting or getting shot, feel free. I know, it’s a horrible pun, but that’s just how I feel right now.
