Hot tip if you’re tired of calls from recruiters

While the jobs market is not good for everyone right now, it seems that in my line of work, you’re never short of calls from recruiters. A couple of months ago when I had just finalised a move to a permanent position, I was completely jack of talking to recruiters. They would call me at all hours of the working day and I wanted a way to easily ignore them.

In a brainwave I found a simple, fairly elegant solution. I created a contact in my phone named Recruiter. I was thinking of much less savoury things to call them, but I didn’t really want those words splashed across my iPhone screen. Then, every time I’ve had a call from a recruiter since, I add their number to my Recruiter contact.

The result? Every time a recruiter calls and they haven’t blocked their number (I often don’t answer blocked numbers anyway) I can quickly see that from the word Recruiter on the iPhone display and reject the call. Boom.

The next trick is to stop them from leaving voicemails…
